Hello all,

I broke my laptop again :'(

I was using my laptop downstairs and it suddenly turned off, I guess the battery just shorted out and went dead on me.

Anyhow, I am running redhat 8 on my sony laptop and the error codes I am getting are

Bringing up interface eht0: pcnet_cs device does not seem to be present, delaying eth0 initialization: [Failed]

Starting pcmcia: Yenta IRQ list 0cb8, PCI irq9
Socket Status: 30000410
Yenta IRQ list 0cb8, PCI irq9
Socket Status: 30000410

From the error codes above, I guess it has something to do with my wireless PC card. Before all this happened, I brought my laptop out of sleep mode one day, and the wireless connection just won't work. So I made another connection: eth1 through the system manager, and it worked fine. During the same day, my battery went dead on me and now I'm stuck with a broken computer.

HOw can I fix this?

Thanks a lot

Not sure about that one, but your error suggests a broken PC card or controller.

Maybe these guys can help... <A HREF="http://pcmcia-cs.sourceforge.net/" target="_new">http://pcmcia-cs.sourceforge.net/</A>
