I need to upgrade the processor of my machine, I know it's a huge bottleneck for my system. Here are my specs:

Abit VT6X4
Celeron 500
Annihilator Pro (Geforce 256 32 DDR)
384 Megs PC-133

What do you guys think about just going to a PIII 800+ @ 133 FSB or should i go and get a thunderbird? What would be the performance difference? Remember, I can't afford much more than $350 Canadian :(

I don't think Abit VT6X4 is compatible with T-bird. Anyway, your choice seems fine to me. You have plenty of RAM and a good graphic card. Moving to PIII800 should well improve the performance.

Thanks, I know the board doesn't support t-bird, I guess I should have mentioned that, that's the only problem, if I didn't need to buy a new motherboard, I'd goto a thunderbird in a second
