I just built a new machine with the ABITkt7A - raid, and Tbird 1.2mhz and 266 FSB, after setting up hardware, on the softmenu if i select 133/33 with 9x multiplier it wont work, after trying it a few times i had VGA problems and now my processor aint working, why is this? it would work only if i choose 100/33 with 12X multiplier. isnt the "A" suppose to stand for 266 fsb support? help!!

the "a" in kt133a VIA chipset means the motherboard supports 100 or 133 FSB cpu
thunderbirds come as "B" = 100 FSB
or as "C" = 133 FSB
sounds like you got a 1200MHz B type
try setting the SOFTMENU to 1200 100/33
hopefully this will boot!
to change to 1200 133/33 means UNLOCKING the L1 BRIDGES
this is another post thou!
hope i've been able to shed some light

Thanks for your reply, i forgot to mention that i checked my chip, it sez A1200AMS"C", i dont have a picture of it that i can show you though :( I bought the chip at XANDER hongkong. Yes, i tried it before and it worked at 100/33 but now whatever i do nothing happens because everytime i turn on my comp it cant send a signal to my monitor. I tried using a 1.1 athlon "b" and it worked properely. But that waz my girls processor that i just borrowed though :(

take it back
try and get an "AXIA" stepping
thats on the second line of the three on the die
e.g.

A1000 AMT3B
AXIA 0105 MPM
41F 13280624

good for lots of O/C all with aircooling!!
