LPT cable HELP NEEDED ASAP

Hi if there is any other thread about it I apologize . Im not so experienced in ports. Where or how do I find out what the PIN configuration of an LPT cable is? I know its a 9pin cable and its used between the Desktop computer and a cash register?? HELP ASAP

The 9-pin cable is a serial, or RS-232, cable.
