I tried to install Windows XP (without sp1 intergrted) in a 200GB JB Western Digital but at the moment where the os asks to create the partition it can "see" only 130GB. Is there a solution so Windows XP can use the full size of the disk? Thanks!

Weird...try using a Windows 98 boot disk (not Windows XP), and use FDISK to partition your hard drive.

I have GigaByte 8pe667 so i don't think the problem is related with the bios because it is shown as 200gb. Maybe the problem is related with the version of winxp that i have (greek). You think i should try to format it with Partition Magic 8 or with the western digital utility?

The problem is related with Windows XP. The one with SP1 does'n have this issue. You can see the the article 303013 in Microsoft knowledge base for more details. I used an Ata 100 promise controller with XP without sp1 but it is important to use the drivers provided by the promise disk because the ones that come with Windows XP "see" the disk as 130gb only.

Ah, good work! I wasn't aware of this, and I didn't know how to look for it. Great job! Everything fixed now?

Merry Christmas!!!
