Ok so I have a really good gaming desktop (so dont go saying "go get a desktop, its better for gaming :D ) i know. I need a laptop for school/vacation/ dont feel like sitting in my room to use the internet. So I've narrowed down my choice to 2 different laptops from Newegg that seem really good for the price.

First is the ASUS G Series G53JW-XN1 NoteBook
-Intel Core i7 740QM(1.73GHz)
-15.6"
-4GB Memory DDR3 1333
-500GB HDD 7200rpm
-DVD Super Multi
-NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460M
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220921

Second is the TOSHIBA Qosmio X505-Q892 NoteBook
- Intel Core i5 460M(2.53GHz)
-18.4"
-4GB Memory DDR3 1066
-500GB HDD 7200rpm
-DVD Super Multi
-NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460M
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834214050

Now i was looking for some advice on which is better for me. I will basically be playing TF2, WoW, LFD2, CSS,, watching movies, music, MS Word

Which one is the best? And maybe you have another suggestion of a great laptop thats not these 2, link it to me, my price limit it $1250(and im willing to spend it so not crappy notebooks).

Thanks :D

The best one out of the two you've narrowed your choice down to is the ASUS G Series G53JW-XN1.

Advantages of ASUS G Series G53JW-XN1 over TOSHIBA Qosmio X505-Q892:
Quad Core as opposed to Dual Core
Resolution of 1920 x 1080 and LED backlight as opposed to 1680 x 945 CCFL (Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp) backlight
1 year ASUS Accidental Damage Warranty against Drops, Fire, Spill, Surge as opposed to none
2 years Warranty as opposed to 1 year

This question seems to constantly come up. I am also wondering the same thing but have not even bothered to try to pull together a list of Laptops capable because there just isn't enough information that is reliable. Most is forum posts and internet heresay whereas I don't want to throw down $1K or more to find out it wont play borderlands or wont play world of warcraft like my old Dell Inspiron 1525.

It was great for a few years but why does a laptop have to always be low end graphically that it can't handle games and never handles the new games that come along?

Why doesn't some web site come along (cough Toms cough) that tracks these important questions like this? A site that would go back to it's roots and provide real data and information to give us "gamer scores" on laptops for users who are sitting on their wallets waiting for the needed info before buying hardware that then doesn't meet the challenge?

I remember when this web site provided all of this good information back before it had quite so many adverts and jazzy facebook buttons and junk on it... (whistful sigh)

WHO THE F*** WANTS AN ATI-4000 CARD WHEN THEY WANT TO GAME!!!!!!

Please ban that jerks account. (That computer is a piece of junk for $900)

I agree. He just keeps suggesting random laptops and interestingly enough always fails to mention their graphics card in the actual post. Please make him leave, he is not helping anyone and is actually hurting the forum.
