An amusing gravestone was almost worth this one (see link to screenshot)
I was playing as a wizard intent on breaking my current 10 million point
high score, and spent lots of time customising the dungeon, carving
aesthetically pleasing bits out of it, polypiling for massive amounts of
gems and generally being a more or less unstoppable force...
After around 140,000 turns, I arrived in Orcus town. I found a fortuitously
placed icebox, with three 'trice corpses fresh inside, and was busy turning
Orcus and Yeenoghu (summoned) into statues and back again. I was hoping for
other scary purple & types to show up so I could smack them in the face with
the 'trice too.
I decided to clear the room up a little as it was full of distracting piles
of rocks and other detritus. One pile of stuff yielded shuddering vibrations
and one sole banana. I thought it'd make a nice snack and wasn't paying
attention to my satiation level.
I choked. And died.
Screenshot - It made me smile and at least I made the top ten list, although
as possibly the most pathetic cause of death on the entire score list so
