Indeed, this is of course due to the fact that the superiority of the Athlon core over the Pentium III and the Pentium 4 still not good enough to compete at equal terms, even still, AMD Athlon system are JUST as compatible as Intel ALL (Celeron, Pentium III, 4) PC's and actually better performind overall and a MUCH mroe attractive price.
Why buy 1GHz PIII PC for $2000 when you can get an equal Athlon system for like $1750 ???!??? Ahhh......becuase it's all Intel Marketing Skeems my friend.....The little blue men are getting to people....
 
BTW, you think Intel has realised by now its rediculous to release a 5-4 Processor??? let alone the 5-3 and the 5-2 ???
man.... Pentium (Penta means 5) and than 2nd, and 3rd, and now 4th Generation of the 5th generation......stupid people....hehheh heheh

PIII systems for $2000, HA! Every time I look through Magazines and see Dell PC's being advertiesed at 1 GHz for $1199 or something like that but their crap systems, with ATI Rage Pro Video, some of them with only 64MB of RAM!?! That's Intel marketing for ya.

Look, as long as Intel don't say their chips are better than AMD's and vice versa, let the companies do what they want but rely on the opinions of the people on these forums and others and also on your own experiences.

Good point. but there is only one thing the P4 is better then the athlon in. Programs that are made for SSE2 instruction. Anyway how many programs are there for SSE2. Not alot right now. Maybe after some more SSE2 program's and cheaper P4's. Moods should change. Well the athlons FPU distories the P4. Well it will be nice to Northwood and that built up FPU go against the Athlon.

Might remind you that msn is a free internet service the microsoft supplies. So if that idea holds true then the folks are cheapo's and cheapo's buy cheap stuff. What do we know thats cheap???
