HP SCANJET 2050 j510a SERIES NOT PRINTING

I am having problems with my printer, it stopped printing altogether from Word documents and yet it prints pictures from the web but not the letters.

Can someone please help me to fix this problem.

I have installed another cable and the ink levels show half full, have also tried re-installing driver over old driver.
