What does the audio service not running mean on acer laptop

Hello,

I have a red x over the speaker icon and the message says audio service not running. my laptop is an acer

It means no audio device is detected. So you might have no speakers/headphones/sound output device plugged in. It might also mean you aduio driver is disabled. You might want to check in device manager if the sound device drivers are enabled (usally realtek). You might also check you sound options fromthe control panel and make sure all devices are enabled. Do that by selecting to view all devices and making sure they are all enabled.
