yeah well thats the other problme isn't it.

Africa is pretty Fed up. (moreso than the middle east IMO).

but the problem with aid is "its needed" and "if we give them money, then the governments will just steal it"

so how does one get aid to the people without going through the governments.

I read an amazing statistic recently about how much "aid/loan monies" were stolen by leaders/rulers in africa ... I didn't save it, because I really never expected to get into a conversation about african aid, but it was something like, well over 75% ... was hundreds of billions ... and the world/UN stood by and watched this happen ... I will add, as the US is the largest single participant in the world bank and has the largest gov't foreign aid program (not counting the hugh private donors) ... the money stolen was "mine" ... and some musicians and their buddies want "me" to forgive this theft ... while everybody stood by and watched ... sorry, I don't have that kind of money to throw away ... I'd say let the rich (Sir Paul, Elton, etc) kick in their wealth ...
