Or should I say Athlon 4? Mike Magee over at The Inquirer has an interesting story up, revealing that Palomino will support SSE+, a sort of mish-mash of SSE1 and SSE2 instructions. This comes as quite a shock, as AMD has been denying this rumor ever since the processor was disclosed.

With an improved Athlon with SSE2 to compete with a large compatible Socket A market, Pentium 4 is going to find it very hard this year.

Hmmm I wonder how the P4 will handle this challenge now considering it already has a couple hundred mhz leads on the athlon yet can't outperform it!

In the end u will all see that the weakest link for AMD is VIA @ the time being!
But for Intel, Price,Performance,RDRAM!
