I downloaded the lastest "updates" for mircosoft and now
my internet is acting weird. It randomly disconnects and
then all of a sudden will not let me re-connect (with
message "a network cable is unplugged" being displayed)
to my wireless provider unless I restart.

I tried to follow the troubleshoot method for this but
the tabs did not match up to the ones I was seeing on my
computer. Im operating on XP and have a Microsoft
Broadband Wireless card.

PLEASE HELP!

Which wireless products are you working with?

For starters try to unplug the modem and the router and re-plug both in,
reboot your PC......see how things behave at that point.
