We all know and love the good old boy AutoCAD a standard that all design software aims to be like. Now if you don't believe me phone them. Now this is what one of there technical support staff told my buddy at Husky. They said that they will not support data integrity or do onsite work for a AMD based system while operating under windows 2000 and NT 4.0. When he asked why all they said was that AMD has issues and that was the end of the conversation... well they did say good bye. Now if that don't hurt AMD I don't know what would. I really want to know why they don't but as I said they just said "issues". Oh well maybe one day they will say, till then tough luck monkey men.

I think that's the stupidest thing I have ever heard. Give me a phone number and I will call them!

Its supposed to run on them yes. But they won't do onsite service calls or take responsibility for data integrity.

Well AutoDesk knowledge base is saying that the Athlon is "supported". I take that to mean that they have no problem with it. It would be cool if you had something else to back up your claim?

Don't base your theory on one technical support specialist, who may have been having a bad day. Many of these people are not quite the "specialists" they should be, and end up giving their products a bad name due to their bad attitudes and misinformation.

Ya, tech support people are dumb. I was having a problem with my 8X burner, as it only burnt at 2X. I called tech support to see what was up, and told him I had a Duron system. He said that it wouldn't work properly on a Duron because the BUS signaling was too fast. HAHA stupid him. Anyways, it only burns at 2X on my 440BX Pentium II system as well, so that is clearly not the problem.

spud, were you around when Hobbit was the most annoying thing under the sun with his 10 page tech support posts about ATI? if so youd realize that you are getting damn clsoe to the annoying and flat out stupid crap that Hobbit managed to pump out. you sound like your a desparate madman (maybe not too far off) in need of something, anything to take a stance on. in this case you have chosen not to support intel, but to simply bash amd. your posts make me wonder whether you know how to put a computer together much less decide the merits of a certain processor.

I don't have the time to procrastinate.

Who's Hobbit??? And if I am wrong so what its not a big deal I wanted to ruffle a few monkey furs. If I am wrong I am wrong ill totally admit to it but it sounds very unusual for a corporate company to be told that AutoDesk won't support AMD for onsite work and tech support.

Some people are told one thing, yet they only hear what they want to hear (distorting information to fit their needs/wants). Perhaps you should take more time to listen.

Hope you are still off of the drugs.....

Your an Idiot! Real pro's don't use junk software. We use SDRC Ideas Master Series 6, 7, and 8. Those amature programs like Autocad 2000 are mostly used by small companies who can't afford the big guys software (can you say $50k per licence?) or the pros who know how to use it. They hire people from Community Colleges, the types of schools that teach Autocad 2000. With Ideas I can design a complete car, crash it into a wall, and get a stress analysis on every part after the collision. Ford uses it. GM and Chrysler have their own similar proprietary software. None use Autocad.
