help with system performance

Hi all, i just bought severance the blade and its running kinda slow [1024*768*32 fancy shadows off], i just wanted to know how i can get extra performance from my system?
specs;

Duron 800
128mb pc-133
radeon 64mb ddr, driver 4.12.3050
Asus a7pro mobo with via 4-in-1 1.29a
sound blaster live value
Win 98se
Directx 8
Would just adding another 128mb ram help me out?

Oh yeah and v-sync is turned off.
One more thing does anyone know what a z and stencil buffer does? I've tried the z-buffer at 16,24 and 32 but i can't tell the difference!

Hmmm... The game runs fine on my system. Make sure Anti-virus and stuff that steal proformace is off. Goto rage3d.com and get a tweaker to enable some hidden stuff.
