Re installing window 7 procedure

I am thinking of re installing window 7 onto my laptop, which currently is on window 7, but of a different language. I would like to install an english version of window 7.

I would want to ask the procedure of doing so, and how i can backup my files.

What type of media are you going to be using for the reinstall?

The choices are:
USB drive
Recovery DVD (Usually created on a new computer using some form of software from manufacturer to create them)
Retail DVD (No different than OEM DVD)
OEM DVD (No different than Retail DVD except for can only be activated once on one PC)

you mean the version of window 7?
I still have my unused copy of home premium i still haven't used since last year (disk), but my friend said he'd give me a ultimate version on through his usb

You can try the process found HERE for Home Premium, but I do not know if it truly works effectively or not because I've never had a need to change the language before (a US citizen here ). Also, if that doesn't work, Google it. I'm sure there is tons of stuff out there.

dumb question: will the language pack affect performance?
