Need help finding a Gaming Laptop

I am looking to replace my desktop with a laptop. I would want to set it up (for the most part) at my desk. Meaning that I would want to hook up large monitor, printer, keyboard, mouse and sound system. I need it fast enough to play black ops and other games like it. I would also occasionally hook up to HDTV for movies. I also need it to able to edit video and audio. I happened upon the ACER AS7745-G-3053 at Staples for $800CA. Would this computer meet my needs? I have been outdated on my knowledge of systems since its been four years since I last investigated. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

Laptops are a area where you need to find a good brand. Acer has a history of some issues. Such as freezing up during applications (like games). Might consider a ASUS/Toshiba model instead.
