Remote workstations

Hi there,

I would like to move our workstations to our server room. Our server room is closed off by a brick and concrete wall. The server room is within an office partition (drywall). Beyond this is an open plan area where we have several workstations.

What I would like to do is move all the workstations to the server room and be able to control these computers remotely. The maximum distance is around fifteen meters from the server room to the furthest workstation. All cables from the server room will be routed through the ceiling.

I have looked into this:

http://www.logisyscomputer.com/viewsku.asp?SKUID=RMPC2&DID=REMOTE

Which is interesting. I am aware that the advertised range is 100 feet without obstructions. Does anyone have any experience with this? Do you reckon it will work in our situation? Perhaps there is a way of boosting the signal along the way?

Then for keyboard/mice, I was thinking this might be a good solution:

I was thinking of using a USB extension to plug in the dongle. This would be somewhere in the ceiling, and as close as possible to the keyboard/mouse. What do you think?

Then for the monitors, we have LED screens and HDMI cables from workstation to monitor. I reckon we can just use longer HDMI cables and route them from the monitors to the server room. Maximum length would be fifteen meters (rough estimate) - I don't think this will be a problem with a good quality cable?

The network cables will obviously be close to our server rack, which is good. The main reason for this is to give more desk space for our operators.

I hope you can offer some suggestions/advice on the above.

I look forward to hearing back.

Thanks.

Sorry, I forgot to mention the following:

1. No, I do not want to keep the computer on 24/7 and use sleep mode. It will be necessary to be able to turn the computer on in case there is a power failure etc. The server room is not easily accessible to everyone.

2. I was thinking of using a USB extension cable, something like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812156026 to keep the mouse/keyboard dongle as close as possible. This should suffice?

Thanks
