I am just about to build my very first build but still have no idea what to get in terms of monitor. I have been researching 6+ hours daily for a week straight and just can't make up my mind as I wait for my parts to arrive.
My build is:
Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler
Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H ATX LGA1155 Motherboard
G.Skill Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory
Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Samsung 840 Series 120GB 2.5" Solid State Disk
Gigabyte Radeon HD 7970 3GB Video Card
SeaSonic 650W 80 PLUS Gold Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply
My budget is somewhere around $500 or some more/some less (per screen)
I have been looking at Catleap and crossover monitors for 1440p 27'' displays. I would like to do a dual monitor at some point possibly. I was in talks with a local guy to buy his 3 catleap that are PP and a triple stand for around 1300 but that could just be a pipe dream since I would need to get a new psu to power a crossfire setup to keep up with that much monitor demand.
I play mostly FPS on Xbox but am making the jump to PC. 120 hz monitors interest me but I have no way of knowing if they would be worth it as no local store has any to see personally.
Finally I was looking at maybe just getting two IPS 24 inch monitors but I am not sure if it would be a waste to go to 1080p vs the 1440p? 24'' Seems to be plenty big for me and then I might get a 19-21.5 to be my second screen, but if 27'' is where the best option is I'll get that.
Any ideas/ recommendations would greatly be appreciated as I am very unknown to this tech and only have the internet to learn from.
(I have no problem looking at used/refurbished/discontinued models as long as they work and look great)
Monitors I have been looking at:
Nixeus Vue 27"
