Hello,
So I am looking into getting a new MacBook Pro, I currently have the 2008 version and would to upgrade now. I have a 13 inch version and have no problem with it. I am looking into the new 15 inch version. My question is by going up to the 15 I will be loosing some ghz speed to 2.0(I5) but gaining 4 cores and 6mb cach. On the high priced 13 inch, I get 2.7 ghz(I7) two cores and 3mb cach.

am I loosing on processing speed by getting the 15 inch version, I guess I am confused as to why I will pay more for a processor that is slower?

You are running a slower clock speed but gaining 2 more core which is better than 2 core at 2.7.

Thanks so more cores at a slows speed is better than less at a faster sPeed. Is that because a core is a processor itself? I would have 4 processors working at the same time?

Yes as long as you have software that can use them.
