Unable To "Connect" Device To Sync

Hello,Windows Media Player unable to recognize my iPod Shuttle in order to synchronize, even though previuos version was used to downloadd and sync all of music. The":setup sync" in the dropdown is also "grayed out". How can I re-install a working Windows Media Player?

There is nothing wrong with Windows Media Player.
iPods want to sync with iTunes (and iTunes only thanks to Apple).
Did you previously have a Windows Media Player plug-in that you used to your iPod Shuffle? You'll need to get another plug-in utility program installed to use Media Player for syncing.
