dual plane voltage

I called Intel today to get warranty replacement and they told me my celeron 600 with a 1.7v has a new voltage system that older motherboards dont support, called dual plane voltage. I think there full of crap, does anyone know anything about this.

So, what does that have to do with them replacing the CPU or not? Any mobo that supports celery has dual plane voltage. Cyrix PR200 had Core and I/o voltage settings.
