I have a program that needs to address the parallel port on a computer. It works with an I/O Interface Relay board, which lets your computer control outside devices, like lamps, etc., or even car functions like lights, windows, etc.
I have a Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop, but it doesn't have a parallel port for this software to address. Actually, none of my laptops have parallel ports, except for a very old Dell C610 which won't run the software.
I bought a USB to parallel port interface cable, which came with a driver DVD, but it doesn't seem to work. I tried a couple of different drivers, but have no idea which one I should actually be using.
I have since ordered a PCMCIA to Parallel interface which I am waiting to receive, and hope that will work.
Does anyone have any suggestions, or know what drivers I should be using to get the USB/Parallel cable to work?
This is driving me nuts!
