I hate wereloves. My 4th rogue now bit the dust, and he's the second
that's killed by the same pack of wolves in a bones file in Minetown.
Funny thing is, this is my 3rd character to be killed there, the first
one by an angered cross-aligned priest. The second was killed by a
werewolf that summoned help twice and filled the level with wolves.
Now, that bones pile contains an obscene amount of dwarvish armor and
daggers, plus a pair of +1 speed boots (randomly generated), and amulet
of reflection (from Sokoban) and an amulet of ESP (random). There is
also a lot of uncursed equipment, because the last rogue dropped his
sack somewhere near the stairs.
Rogues are fun to play, but are too fragile before you load them with
mithril, dwarvish shield and any other armor you can find. So, the next
Rogue that stumbles on that bones file is dead, unless he has negative
AC and is expert in dagger. OK, time to start another Rogue...

Although with fighter classes I normally do the mines then sokoban, in
this case I would do sokaban first then, with a nice stack of daggers
(pref enchanted), and some hand wands (teleport, digging are the 2 best
ones for escape), Id try and take them from a distance, and if things
got too much use one of the wands to escape, heal up, and try again.
