Although obviously newer with some better components, should my wife's 4600
run 50% faster when online gaming with her?

My 4550 system:
P4 2.0
1G DDR Ram
GeForce 5700 w/256M Ram

Her 4600 system:
P4 2.8
1G DDR Ram
GeForce 5200 w/128M Ram

I'm thinking besides the obvious difference in processors, her motherboard
is newer. I know it has 8X AGP vs. my 4X AGP. Would those two differences
alone make that much of a difference? Would my processor fit in a newer
motherboard, I believe it is a Socket 7, but don't really know for sure.
Shipping invoice says:

1 6U214 CARD (CIRCUIT), PLANAR (MOTHERBOARD), DIM4550, NETWORK
INTERFACE CARD/CONTROLLERS
1 9U540 PROCESSOR, 80532, 2.0G, 512K, 400, SOCKET N, C1

Any advise would be appreciated

Let me see now some of the obvious differences would be Dual Channel memory,
Hyperthreading Processor, faster chipset, the AGP speed you mentioned,
possibly faster hard drive, faster processor, she has 800FSB and I believe
that you are 400 FSB and she could have less programs installed on her
system that would interfere at startup with gaming. The socket is 478 I
believe on both systems. She has the much faster system overall.

Just wondering...is she smoking you during those online game
sessions....GRIN.
