I have a Panasonic TC-L32U3 as a monitor connected to my computer, which has an NVidia GeForce GTX 550 Ti graphics card. It is connected via a mini-HDMI to HDMI, although the problem has occurred using a DVI to HDMI cable, as well, so I don't think it is the cable.
I keep my computer on all the time. When I am not going to be using it for an extended period, I turn off the monitor but leave the computer running.
The problem is that when I turn the monitor back on, it stays blank until I unplug the video cable and plug it back in. I suspect that it is because the monitor has to redetect the presence of the video signal, and apparently does not automatically do so when it is turned on.
Is this something that can be fixed, or is it just an inherent problem related to using a TV as a monitor?
