Monitor Not Receiving Power?

Greetings,

I have a problem with my Acer S231HL 23-in monitor. This morning, the monitor was working perfectly fine, but after an hour or so drive with it in my car, it doesn't seem to be receiving power.

The AC-adapter of the monitor has a green LED lit up, but the monitor does not have any LEDs. I have tried different power outlets with the same result.

I've read that this may mean the power capacitors may be bad, but this monitor is relatively new. Can that happen that fast? How can I know if the AC adapter is working properly or not?

An electrician's volt-meter with a probe should tell you if there's power at the end which plugs into the TV, but be careful to read volt-meter instructions and observe usual safety rules when dealing with electricity.
