8 gigs of ram, full HD? are they worth the cost?

Can anyone advise whether i should get 8 gigs of ram on a laptop for general home use, but also for gaming (not intensive, but would like the option of running the latest games). would 4 gigs suffice or is it worth forking out another 170 euros for 8 gigs? Also would be interested in views on full HD screens. they cost an extra 200 euros, are they worth it?

4 gigs is usually more than enough for average users. When it comes to gaming things like the CPU and graphics card are much more important. As for the full HD screen, they are completely worth it on 15 and 17'' laptops. This is especially true when the alternative is a 720p screen.

Yep, no problem.

My desktop runs on a 1366x768 resolution while my laptop uses a 1920x1200 res. The difference is night and day. The amount of real estate that you gain from the full HD is hard to give up once you get used to it.
