Don't know about Mac's but Alpha's surely kicking anything from x86 platform when it comes to FPU-intensive calculations...

tell me about it... even the 333mhz Alpha's rape pentium ghz machines when it comes to FPU.. of course they have 64bit architechture as well.

Macs are really good with floating point.. I think they have the Athlon's beat dont they? It's hard to say because they aren't clocked as high as P{C's.

Macs now have 4 floating point units in the procesor, called velocity engine.
