Mouse moves on own to desktop

I have a Dell XPS laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium that is nearly 1 year old - it has not been dropped or damaged in any way with liquid/food. My mouse (normally controlled by a touch pad) continues to move on its own to the bottom right hand corner to the show desktop toggle or the time/calendar area. It does this even when I am using the mouse. It is very annoying and I don't know how to fix it. Any suggestions?

  1. That can mean malware, scan with anti malware bytes, and see what comes up. I'd do the full scan right away.
  2. Thanks for the reply. I did a full virus/spyware/malware scan with all of the following and came back that the system is fine: SpyBot, Malwarebytes, Hack This Security, Norton360, and ended with a CCleaner. Any other ideas?
