Is there any way to (relatively) inexpensively upgrade an AST BRAVO 75 Pentium to a 200-300MHZ short of replacing the motherboard?
A friend of mine in Canada was told that they cannot connect DSL because the Pentium 75 cannot handle it; that he must have at least a 200+ Pentium CPU.
You can get a geniune Intel Pentium 200MMX overdive of raround $50 if you can find one, or a K6-2 400 Overdrive from Evergreen (<A HREF="http://www.evertech.com" target="_new">http://www.evertech.com</A> ) for around $130. With either processor you should set the jumpers to 100MHz to get the 66MHz bus speed.
BTW, Evergreen carries a 200 overdrive for $50 also, as well as a full line of speeds <A HREF="http://webstore.evergreennow.com/acatalog/Evergreen_WebStore_Pentium_Upgrades_4.html" target="_new">Look Here</A> for prices.
