Curious...
anybody tried running their athlon C below 1.75 V?

In my bios ive set mine to 1.70 V.
due to errors in reporting, by bios reports this as about 1.71V, and asus probe reports it as 1.745.
thing is the 1.70 V setting is very stable, even under extended full load (8 hours of straight SETI@home)

just recently ive also found i can go as low as 1.65V, and asus probe reports it as 1.705V. Stability also looks good, but havnt had time to run SETI for any extended period of time.

Q. Who else can do this reliably?

another note,
im running at 8 x 150 = 1200
if i move up to 8.5 x 150 = 1275 it refused to work unless i set the voltage to 1.70 in the bios (asus proble reports 1.745V)
then i tried 9 x 150 = 1350. had to up the voltage again to 1.75, but even then it locked after about 5 mins of seti.
gonna try full 1.8V tonite.

Q2. not sure what to believe here... the bios voltages should be more reliable, yet i can run my system at 1.65V according to the bios.

anyone else seen things like this?

Yes, I have see this too on my ASUS A7A266 with 1.333 GHZ Thunderbird. In the BIOS it is set to 1.75, but ASUS probe reads 1.808 volts. Sorry, but I have no explanation for why this occurs.

Haven't seen it myself (because I have a Duron) but I was reading about what you described at www.overclockers.com.au before they shutdown their forums.

Many people, with Athlon AXIA's, were getting their best overclocking results by lowering the core voltage. I thought they were finding that somewhere below 1.7 volts was the best, something like 1.68 volts (for those with boards that had 0.0125 volt increments).

They can only run at their normal speed on 1.65 or 1.7 once you start overclocking they will not run at those low voltages, I have experimented with this extensively.
