My user has a sony clie NR70v running windows xp. It will sync just
fine, but ms export says there is not a memory stick available. The
computer finds the new hardware, but it won't read the memory stick.
Does anybody know of a fix for this or a driver that would work?
I tried using ms import it still didn't work.
thanks

No I haven't tried that, but the clie sees the memory stick just fine.
I think it might be more of an xp problem. It is like win xp can't
recognize the memory stick. Thanks for the feedback I will try it and
see if it works.

Have you installed the system update?

There is an MS Import driver on the CD--install that, put the Clie in the
cradle, hit "MS Import" on the Clie, and the Memory Stick should show up
with a drive letter on Windows--you don't need to use MS Export.

You said "your user". How is he configured? Was the Sony software
installed using the account name that he uses (it might be necessary to
temporarily give the account administrator privilege in order to do the
installation)? Are there any question marks in device manager? When you
plug the Clie in and hit "MS Import" does _anything_ happen on the
computer?

He has administrator privileges. There aren't any question marks in
the device manager. When I press ms import it says connected to
computer on the clie. Nothing else happens.

And in "My Computer" there are _NO_ "Devices with removable storage" other
than the diskette drive and the CD drive showing?
