No one seems to have a list of what you can polymorph into at certain levels
As a doppelganger, so I thought we could make one:
(useful things
2 -hill orc
4 -cockatrice
6 -xorn
9 -diamond golem (and everything else)
Anyone have any other monsters? I am currently in fort ludios (for the first time!)
As a Xorn, with Mojo and the GoDefense. I have a huge amount of polypile fodder,
But I keep creating golems. I am lvl 10.

Rock mole is handy for digging out vaults/ hidden closets, and also for
being able to eat dirt when hungry. I don't know when you are
guaranteed to get the polymorph successfully, but I have done it at
XPlevel 1 before now (after quaffing gain energy, of course.) Umber
hulk is another good one for similar reasons, but I think you'd have to
wait for XPlvl9.
Dragons and purple worms are also good forms to assume, for eggs.
