I'm in the process of upgrading the Windows Hearse client. I'm looking
for a handful of volunteers to beta-test the new version for me for a
week or so and let me know if they see anything strange or any behaviour
that they don't expect.
The new version uses a configuration file rather than storing data in
the registry and allows the user to better control how many bones files
they should have. That is, it is possible to automatically have the
server give you more bones if you have less than a certain number. The
default mode of operation is now 'match mode' - that is, when every
bones file that is uploaded is replaced by one of the same level.
On the downside, once you run the new version it is not possible to move
back to the old one - as part of the upgrade process it clears out the
old version's registry entries. Supplementary beta versions will be
mailed out as any serious bugs are found and fixed.
Anyone who is interested please drop me a line at hearse at hotpop.com.
