personally, i think you guys are running your processors way too hot. i've a 1GHZ athlon running at 1.4 GHZ, and i PEAK out at 60 degrees celsius. i use Prime 95 to place a load on the processor, and i've never seen it move above 60. and i'm running 400 MHZ over the recommended temp!
as far as cooling, i'm using the Global WinFOP-32 and arctic silver II. no extra case fans, no nothing.
as far as suggestions, from what i've read the ASUS temp monitor is off by something like 10 degrees celsius from what others report. i would agree with the above post and go get motherboard monitor. it's free and a really funcional program. if you're using a Super Orb HSF, go buy a different one. there's lots of good info in the cooling forum. that's where i went to figure out what to use on my computer when i was putting it together.
just to give you guys a range of temp comparison, my processor goes down into the low 40's when it's completely idle, moves into the high 40's, low 50's during normal operation (web surfing, email, word processing) and climbs into the high 50's during more intense work, sometimes jumping up into the 60's after a while. just to give you an idea what other people are seeing with their computers.
hope this helps!
