>><b>The company's new product-activation technology, which locks Office XP or Windows XP to a particular PC hardware configuration, can deactivate unexpectedly, rendering the software useless until a code number is obtained from Microsoft. The feature could present the biggest headache to people that frequently upgrade or change components on their PCs.</b><<
Yeah, according to a quote I saw from a Microsoft spokesperson (sorry, no link - it was a while ago), it'll never cause you to have to buy a new copy or to make Microsoft think you're pirating, but it's still gonna be a pain in the butt to get a new code all the time.
I'm glad I already have cracks. Oops, did I say that out loud?
