My copy of Win XP is the "upgrade" version. Is there any way that I can install it on my new PC without installing Win 98 first?

Greetings!

Yes, your upgrade version is actually a "Full" version. If you do a clean install it will check to see if there is an earlier version of Windows installed on your computer. If it does not find an earlier version it will tell you to "put your Win98 disk in drive d" (or something like that). You can do a clean install then without installing the earlier version of Windows.

Hope that helps!

That would be great, thanks!

Now I just have to figure out how I want to handle moving the WINXP from my current PC to the new PC that I am building. I guess that I will have to call MS to activate it on the new PC and then remove it from my old PC.
