so Athlon B rapes both P3 and P4?

Athlon B kicks P3s ass, but how about P4? In a battle with SDR mobos who will win Athlon or P4? (there should new SDR P4 mobos soon or are they already out?) I hear people saying that P4 is a new technology and will kick EVEN Palomino's ass (hm......) in games in the fututre and other apps. And can anybody explain about CPU generations? like they say P3 is the same as P2 except clocked higher, and Athlon Classic was already generation six or seven...what about P4? new generation? or just like P3 and P2 higher clock speed?

Yes, the Athlon, specifically the T-Bird series is still ahead of the equivilant in the Pentium 4. In fact, a P4 1.4GHZ rated lower in testing to an AMD T-Bird 1.2GHZ. Not bad and for a MUCH less price with the AMD product.

Well northwood should do it.

I noticed something why does Northwood have more cache then the P4 Xeon (xeon 276kb vs. northwood 532kb)

Guys, more cache isn't always good... I'm sure that the larger cache will be L3, therefore being slower, and actually harming teh performance of teh CPU.

P3 vs Tbird - Tbird wins
P4 vs Tbird - Balanced/Draw (P4 Much better a video, Tbird Better at others)
P4 vs Athlon4 - Balance as above.
