I have a joystick with a 15 pin male connector and no 15 pin port on my computer. I'm not really interested in getting a different joystick. I don't care about the length of the adapter because the joysticks cord length is more than enough.

This is the cheapest one I have found so far.

Is this the right adapter?

I mostly just want a cheap one and preferably short.

The short answer is "MAYBE". These adapters work with analog joysticks. They do not have any hardware to convert analog to digital so they will NOT work with a digital joystick. You don't mention what joystick you have.

If you happen to have a Microsoft Sidewinder 3D Pro Plus, Precision Pro, or Force Feedback Pro then there is a project that has come up with a solution.

Ima bump this thread, I have a Thrustmuster top gun fox 2 pro from 2000, with the above mentioned 15 pin connector.

I'm not sure wether its digital or analogue, is there some sort of adapter and what is the name of that connector to begin with?

Thanks in advance
