If I cancel a polymorphed monster, will it turn back to normal form ?
If I polymorph a polymorphed monster and then kill ther new form, will it
go back to the previous form or to the roiginal one ?
If I cancel a ghoul mage, what will happen to it ?
I have an invisible ghoul mage (among other things) in a bone file with
polytrap at DL9 (oracle). I manage to kill the baby dragon/Xorn but then
that cat/ghoul mage appeared in the stair room (so I don't even have time
to dig down and skip the level for now).
My options seem to be:
1/ bless (2 holy water left) and quaff see invisible.
2/ cancel the mage and fight hand to hand (I'm a Valk. with no great
weapon (+1 spear, 10 dagger, potion of sickness).
3/ polymorph it into something easier to beat.
4/ polymorph my two dogs to help me fighting (I don't know how many
charges I have in my wand).
5/ Teleport the ghoul mage and hope to find the stairs down before it come
back.
Any other ideas ? I will probably go for 1+4+2.
I have speed boots, elven mithril, helmet, gloves. No MR, no reflection. A
few potions (1 of each healing, blindness). Lot of scrolls but not very
usefull (amnesia, fire, destroy armor, enchant armor and weapon
(uncursed), confuse monsters). A few offensive or semi-offensive wands
(magic missilie, slow, probing). A stethoscope, a magic whistle. No really
useful rings (no free action). A magic marker and an uncursed scroll of
charging. 2 holy water and a co-aligned altar in Minetown. No unihorn yet
but a cross aligned unicorn is wandering in Minetown.
