Athlon 800mhz slot A or socket A??

The subject kind of explains it self but i was wondering if there ever was a socket a t-bird 800mhz or if the only 800mhz was slot A. Just wondering because my dad works for compaq computer and can get a Athlon 800 system for $400 and i was wondering what slot/socket it would probably be.

Im savin up for a Cobra!! Hehe!!

Socket A Processor's started with a 700MHz T-Bird...
Slot A processors were made from 500 - 1000MHz
Slot A is not made anymore..chances are if its over a year old its a Slot A Athlon based PC, if not, its most likely a Socket A.
