how do I find the ip address of a xerox tektronix printer connected via ethernet to a windows xp computer

You have the printer connected to the computer by ethernet cable ?
If you have then it should show in the network adaptors page and you would right click on the adapter and select status and that should give you the ip.

make & model of printer is irrelevant as far as IP address is concerned.
