I'm at my wits end with a new ssd. It's seen in bios. When I go to install windows no drive is seen. I'm using a USB stick to install. I've tried raid IDE and achi. It happens when I tried and old vista disk too.
Please help!

sounds like you will need to hit "F6" at startup and provide the SATA Controler's driver from your motherboards manufactuer website.

Check in your bios boot order that your optical drive and SSD are not listed as a UEFI devices (like UEFI xxxx Optical), change it to just the optical drive.

Also, some folks find that disabling EFI works on some boards to get the install done.

I'm confused now, so when I'm in the select a drive/partition phase?

No, after that; drivers installed with F6 are at the beginning of the Windows files install when the bar along the bottom of the screen says press F6 to install drivers.

So an HP? That particular motherboard has a lot of issues with drives as you see HERE.

Check for a bios update, some folks seemed to have luck with that, but the general consensus is that it was a very bad board.
