I have ordered an dual Athlon system this week. I was wondering how i can recognize (without software, just the CPU) if i realy have an MP, instead of a normal Athlon.
For instance a part-code on top.

You can tell by the code on the top of the die (<A HREF="http://www6.tomshardware.com/cpu/01q2/010608/index.html" target="_new">pic</A>).

1.4 GHz Athlon-C: A1400AMS3C
1.2 GHz AthlonMP: A<b>HX</b>1200AMS3C

You can find the details in <A HREF="http://www.amd.com/products/cpg/athlon/techdocs/index.html" target="_new">AMD Processor Data Sheets</A> (pdf files). Look in the section titled "Ordering Information".

Of course, a dishonest supplier <i>might</i> be able to alter that, so check the CPUID when you get it installed also.
