Hi folks,
I remember playing a DOS version of nethack in the early 90s which had a
jedi knight as a character (and some special items like "light sword"
and "battery" ). Does anybody know this version? Seems VERY hard do find
on the web.

There are lightsabers in Slash'Em and there's also a (pretty new) patch
that adds jedis to it - this is probably not what you played back in the
early 90s though.

True, but thanks a lot for the hint! I really should have a look at
Slash'Em at some point. Though it's not really old-school enough :)

Never played it, but it might be "NetHack, the Next Generation" (despite
the name).

This was a patch to Nethack 2.3e. I'm not aware of any binary
distributions, but Ali Harlow has source at

http://www.juiblex.co.uk/nethack/s [...] .3e.tar.gz

After you unpack the tarball, look in the newstuff directory. You'll find
bug fixes and a number of enhancements, including the Jedi patch.
