Hello,
Can I unzip/uncompress files in Windows 7 that were zipped in UNIX using gzip?

yes, binary is binary.

I do transfer them in binary but i seem to be losing line feeds. Any resolution for this?

You're not losing anything. What you are seeing is the difference in how *NIX and DOS/Windows handle end-of-line/newline.
