I want to bring my PC down to a level where, 2 feet away, I can't hear it. Is this possible with a 1Ghz Athlon machine?

What about the Glaciator? How quiet is is REALLY? As quiet as the Silverado? Can you hear it outside the case? What about the Elan Vital enclosures w/ ducts etc. - anyone use those?

I heard the GeForceMX doesn't require a fan - is this a significant improvement over my Matrox G400MAX? Could I get a smooth 1024x768 in Rogue Spear with it (that's the only intense graphic thing I use) running on it? I know the GTS handles it easily, but is very hot.

Figured I'd get a SilentDrive for my 5400RPM 20GB Maxtor, or possibly get a new 7200RPM WD drive.

Already have a quiet 275W PSU from PCPower&Cooling.

Shhhhh. Silence is Golden.

I got a Voodoo3 1000 and i play rogue spear at 1024x768 and it works fine. Why would you get a wd instead of maxtor??

Again, looking for something quiet, and Maxtor's don't fit that bill. Samsung SpinPoint and Fujitsu are supposed to be the quietest, but they are hard to find and expensive.

Algight. I suppose that my 15gb 7200rpm wd is extremely quiet. I can't hear it over the fans in my machine. I have a dual fan cooler on my athlon and the fan in the PSU. Thats all i got for fans and its pretty quiet.

i wouldnt call the winfop32-1 particularly quiet... not by a long stretch.

i stuck two 5 inch squares of sound absorbing foam on the inside on the case to try to mute the noise it makes.

not, everyone has a credit card or likes to use a credit card on the net and those products are only available over the net. As well, people quite often get hit hard for overseas shipping and handling and they are in U.K.

There are also some reviews of products, case mods, and some really good cooling methods that meet all budgets at www.overclockers.com

I don't have a credit card. Never have had one. Too much trouble. Fair enough on the shipping, but you get what you pay for.

Nomorelamers: the FOP-32 comes in two flavors, original and extra-crispy...er...FOP-32i. The FOP-32i has a Delta fan, rated at 46.4dBA.

Do some research before you post next time.

thank you for your rapid-fire educated insults.
it sure makes me think very highly of you.

had you done any research, there are two winfop 32's
the older winfop32, with isnt rated too well on processors 1Gz or above, or the newer winfop32-1, which has a noticably taller heatsink, and far more powerful fan, which also means it it isnt the quietest around. from memory it comes in with the top third of noisy coolers in toms cooler roundup.
