A good friend of ours has MS and is wheelchair bound in early 40's. Her husband served in the first Gulf War and now owns a bread truck and delivery service to Walmart and other local stores.
They have been married over 20 years and have two grown children.
I admired the man, hard working at his house, business owner, and ex-military.
Been to quite a few all day cookouts with them.
Well 3 months ago, out of the blue, he told his wife he wanted a divorce and is moving out with a 24 year old divorced woman he met at Walmart with two mixed race children! Shocking it was, she took it well and refused to divorce him and he moved out.
Well, she is a very strong woman although disabled, and I lost all respect for him the way he handled things. His daughter still talks to him, but hates his girlfreind. His son who is in the military, will not talk to his dad since news of split. Divorce has not even started yet. But anyway, that is not why I am posting this, that was just a summary of thier story.
This morning AM, he died of a heart attack in his sleep at his new home with his girlfriend!
The man was fit and healthy, tho can not say the same for his mental state.
Stunned at the happenings.

BTW, I am not bashing him, I just lost some respect for him. They previously appeared to be a tight couple and sustained many years together. I know firsthand what a stress it is to be stricken with a dis-abled spouse, my wife has come down with Lupus 5 years ago and is dis-abled.
I see no sweet justice here, I am just shocked and overwhelming sadness at the situation. He would have gone out looking like a hero and a champion if he could have maintained his other activities for 3 months. Maybe he was just following his heart, but to invest over 20 years with someone, and have mate fall ill and desert them goes against the institution of marriage, through sickness and health.
update...
They just got back a prelim autopsy report. Said no foul play, a massive heart attack, essentially saying heart exploded.
Seems odd for this to happen in your sleep. Would think at rest would be the least likely to have a heart attack.

Incidentally, after reading your post I went to the bookstore and bought myself a book. Nothing too serious though, just some Calvin and Hobbes to get me laughing. I was going to get a travel book or real estate book but I'm making it a lazy weekend.

I'm thinking of dressing up as Spaceman Spiff for Halloween. Either that or the bunny outfit from Donnie Darko but I'm not sure how to pull any of it off yet.

LMAO! What you need is a seamstress. My wife can make some cool costumes for Halloween for the girls. They are one of a kind and rival most of the ones at Walmart! But I will need a change this year, since for past two years, I was Spongebob and don't won't to get typecast into the role...
