My first conduct game to get past the Castle, a wishless athiest
Samurai, was happily making his way through Asmodeus's level, with
nearly all of the ascension kit. All of a sudden..

You fall into a pit! --More--
You land on a set of iron spikes --More--
The spikes were poisoned --More--
The poison was deadly --More--
DYWYPI?

Teach me to check for poison resistance next time...

I am honestly amazed you made it that far without poison resistance. You
never encountered a unicorn?

I found several, but I rarely play as a Samurai, at the moment I
usually play as Monks, who get poison resistance early on. Guess I just
forgot about it! I'm amazed as well, the number of orcs I met who shot
me with poisoned arrows alone should have wiped me out earlier...

You got very far without poison resistance. Didn't you have any
incidents with mordor orcs?
